Mark
was elected to Parliament at the general election in June
2001. He was previously Head of Policy at the AEEU and was
closely involved in the proposals to bring further Airbus
construction work to Broughton and to resist further redundancies
at Corus in Shotton.

In Parliament, Mark is a member of the Select Committee on
Northern Ireland and has sat on the Standing Committee for
the Employment Bill. He is secretary of the Associate Parliamentary
Aerospace Group, in addition to being a member of All Party
Groups on Manufacturing, Steel, Paper, Football, ME, Broadband,
Japan, Regeneration and Poverty.
